Update To in game map
During my time in guild wars and finding points of intreast and locations of crafters etc, i have wondered if ArenaNet have ever thought of updating the in game map to allow us to put notes and markers on it that way not one map would be the same and you could easily add a location of a crafters location or a location to which a boss drops a green item.
I would love to see this feature introduced and im sure it would be a huge hit with all the community.
Please share your thoughts and views and lets hope to see it in game soon

I would kind of like to have a button that brings up a window and we add our favorite places to go, such as L.A. D1, ToAD1, etc., I would like to just be able to press a button instead of bringing up my map and find the town.. It would be a lot faster! Soo yeah thats my opinion of adding to this!

I too would like this idea to be available. Notes could be stored locally on the client's computer in simple text format or simiular.
Adding notes to the map would be a great and useful feature, anyone who has played any of Biowares RPG games like Neverwinter's Night will know how important it is to have map notes to keep track of important items.

if they dont put it ingame then someone should make a mod for GW like in WoW CTmod, Cosmos where in those you can add stuff to the maps, etc.

I would like it if it would automatically add them to your map, then you could click on them like a town...'cept it would bring up their collector/crafter window and you wouldnt have to run there.
this game is about reduction of grind.

I would love to not have to go to guildwiki and find the collector or boss location.

Oh you guys are in for a real treat. Granted this is not in game, but I do have someone who has contacted me who has created a program called MapMark where you can leave notes on the map and share it with friends. Maybe this will give ArenaNet some good ideas. I'll give you more details as they come but he wants to beta-test it here and if you are interested, I'll be sure to stop by this thread and let you know when that's up.

Be a lot easier then going through my 800 screenshots for that specific collector, where he is and what he wants!

Or you could take one of the full tyria maps on some fansite, open it in paint, and use that. It's not like alt-tabbing is difficult.
/signed anyway. good idea and useful for those who want to do everything with one program.
[sarcasm]"Boy, I wish they'd add npcs that I could order pizza from. Oh and also integrate firefox in so I wouldn't have to alt tab anymore. And if it could scratch my back and change my diaper, that'd be perfect."[/sarcasm]

/signed I want this idea so much.
However, we might be using much more server space. Think about why they haven't given us more storage and slots, it is the same reason.
